(16) It's Time To Choose!

Friends, by now we have seen all the strengths and weaknesses of both the candidates fighting for the White House, in a rather comprehensive manner. Starting from their birth up to their current age, we have also seen their performances in their respective fields of work, in terms of their efficiency, accuracy, dedication, commitment towards their allotted tasks, level of discipline, hard work as well their patience while doing that job. One of the two candidates, viz. Kamala Harris has been in the White House now for more than 3 years. She is the Vice President of the United States in the Biden Administration from 2021 till today (as I write this on August 13th, 2024). The 2nd candidate, viz. Donald J. Trump has been in the White House for 4 full years, between 2017 and 2021 as the 45th President of the United States (POTUS). So, both of them are not new as far as how to administer this country. They know it. It is the American voter now, who has to decide as to who can administer and manage it better than the other person, as to who actually 'fits the bill' for the highest designation. 

As already stated earlier, the purpose of this book is to facilitate the average American voter in deciding his choice by reducing the complexity of his thought process. This was done by clearly presenting the stand of both the candidates on almost all issues that matter to him like - daily wages and paychecks, inflation, education, insurance, security, border issues and immigration problems, abortion, etc. All humans don't think in the same manner, and this applies to Americans too. For example, an American citizen called Mr. X may think that the policy of Harris on a certain issue is correct and hence it's her positive point. Whereas for another citizen Mr. Y would take the same policy of Harris on that particular issue as incorrect, as her drawback and hence would be considering it as her negative point.

Therefore what this book has done is to help both these guys, as much as possible, to come as close as possible to knowing the actual facts. Once both have read this book, they will definitely be able to look through the complexities of their issues in a rather transparent manner and be able to clearly decide, as to which of the candidates has a greater number of policies for this country, that match with those which are in his mind as essential ones. As a result of this, his decision process will become much easier as compared to what it was, before reading this book.

Having said all this, let me put it like this now. Unless and until some extraordinary, totally new, and unexpected event or incident comes up, a vast majority of the possible voters of this election will be voting as below:

Those who give a lot of importance to monthly savings, better paychecks, better daily wages, lesser inflation, No Wars anywhere in the world, no border issues in the southern states, friendly relations with almost all countries of the world including those with the so-called "enemies" of the US like Russia, China, Iran and North Korea, less attention to NATO and the allies of US therein, less in favor of lockdowns in case if any other viral pandemic occurs - then they should choose Donald J Trump and not Kamala Harris. 

On the contrary, all those who give a lot of importance to decency in public life, great returns from rising stock markets, total safety and hence very less deaths from any new outbreak of a viral pandemic, total attention towards strengthening of NATO and maintenance of great relations with all NATO allies of the US, giving very strict warnings and adopting a No compromise attitude towards Russia, China, Iran and North Korea - then obviously they should choose Kamala Harris and not Donald J Trump as their President.

A closer look at both candidates' recent status: (as on August 13th, 2024)

As I write this on the date mentioned above, the momentum has shifted away from Trump, after Joe Biden declared his self-withdrawal from running for Presidency and also endorsed Kamala Harris as his successor, to fight against Donald Trump. It is with Harris right now! In the polls that concluded on August 10th, 2024, she was leading Trump by 1 (percentage) point looking at the overall picture throughout the country. It has been a very sharp revival for her, especially looking at her ratings before Biden announced his withdrawal. At that time, Trump was leading over Biden by 4 to 6 points, and was somewhere in the range of 46 to 52 points. Biden was following him and was around 40 to 44 points in different polls. During those very days, Harris was struggling at 10 to 14 percentage points, Which means before Biden's dropping out, if faced with the question, "Whom would you prefer to be your next President?", only 10 to 14 Americans out of every 100 of them, would have preferred Kamala Harris. But as soon as Biden announced his withdrawal and her subsequent endorsement, that figure of 14 points directly jumped by a huge 30 to 32 points and right now stands at around 45 to 48 percentage points!!! What a remarkable jump! 

In other words, she is very fortunate to get a blistering start to her Presidential campaign and there is absolutely no doubt about that. The momentum was on the side of Trump especially after the assassination attempt on his life on July 13th at Butler, Pennsylvania. But after the Biden withdrawal announcement on July 22nd, the momentum has now shifted away from him and is currently with Kamala Harris!! What remains to be seen is how long this momentum remains with her and is she able to broaden the gap of 1% points between herself and Trump. If she can do that, she definitely has a better chance of beating him and become the 1st female President of the US, while becoming its overall 47th President. It will be a historic occassion if Harris wins. 

On the other hand, despite lagging to Harris in the latest nationwide polls, Trump and his team are in a very upbeat mood!! Marjorie Taylor Greene, a representative of the Republican party, is highly positive and tweets, "Trump will win a landslide victory in November!!" Even former President Trump himself is extremely bullish about his own chances of taking back the White House from the Dems. He says, "This initial momentum that Kamala has got, is like a "honeymoon phase". Honeymoon phases do not last too long and fade away quickly as soon as the realities of life start showing up. The same way, as soon as the bitter realities about her dismal performance as the Vice President and her chamaleon type nature when it comes to policies will start dawning upon the voters, they will start running away from her!" UuLaLa... Trump is a real daredevil...isn't he? He speaks the truth as it is...however harsh it may seem to the listener!!! He also goes ahead to predict that his campaign will again be back in the lead, in a very short time from now. 

On 11th August, he announced that there are going to be 3 Debates between himself and Harris between now and the Election date. They would be on September 4th, September 10th and September 25th. He is very confident of defeating her in all 3 of them, just like how he defeated Biden in the June 27th debate in a very comprehensive manner. 

Some leftists argue to this point from Trump saying that the June 27th Debate victory of Trump over Biden was because by the time that debate took place, Biden's cognitive decline was at its highest point, the worst thing that can happen to any political leader. He was unable to remember things as it were and got choked & blocked while trying to remember certain things, as could be seen in that CNN Debate. All these happened because Biden by then, was too old to lead the country. He was 81 years and 8 months old, when that debate took place. So whatever bad things happened with Biden including his obvious defeat to Trump, were not like forced errors inflicted upon him by some adventurous actions or some exploits of Trump. They were like unforced errors of a tennis match, wherein he himself started doing things that made him get defeated, like forgetting important things, speaking very slowly and indistinctly similar to a mumble, getting lost in thoughts during the debate etc. But now the Democrats have Kamala Harris as their candidate, their new hope. They argue that she will never face such mental or physical obstacles as what Biden was facing as she is very much younger compared to him and even Trump. She is right now 59, and on October 20th, she will become 60. She has age on her side. She is more energetic than Biden and even Trump. Her energy and newly acquired charisma will create a magic among the voters on both the sections across the aisle - viz. Democratic as well as Republican voters!! These liberal leftists are of the opinion that the country is now sick and tired of a very old men (Trump) who is already 78, still wanting to become President! It wants to give a chance to new fresh young blood! (Here they are deliberately ignoring the fact that Biden took oath as the President of the country when he took was 78!! Hahaha...Isn't this hypocrisy??)

The presence of people at the rallies of Harris and her chosen running mate Tim Walz are large these days, almost matching the rallies of Trump. This fact has brought in a renewed sense of revival in the Harris campaign as well as the Democratic party as a whole. They are eagerly waiting for the Democratic party National Convention (DNC) likely to take place at Chicago, Illinois on August 19th, wherein Kamala Harris will be officially nominated as the Democratic party candidate for becoming the next President of the United States. They expect a huge surge in her popularity ratings in the polls after that. 

In short both the candidates are expecting that their poll numbers will improve in the upcoming days and by the time the early voting begins on September 6th, they will be leading by a good margin against their rival. Both  campaigns are busy trying to identify as many flaws and negatives in their rival candidates. The Trump campaign is digging deep to find out the flaws and negatives of the new and presumed Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. An interesting hashtag (#) on X is #KamalaChamaleon ! Is Kamala really a chamaleon. Let's try and look into that accusation in detail:

Kamala glorifies her record as a prosecutor during her early years in San Francisco. She was very keen on giving punishments to the culprits of even small crimes. She keeps boasting about that when she says this about Trump, "I am a prosecutor whereas Trump is a convicted felon. So I know his type." When she talks in that mode, she is all against criminals, wanting to give very hard punishments to all of them. But then she also says, "In order to bring down crime, it's not necessary that we start putting more police everywhere. We actually need to defund the police departments across the nation." Here her stance is completely opposite to her earlier stance of a tough prosecutor!! That's quite shocking, isn't it? Have you ever seen a tough prosecutor who is against the police, asking to defund police departments across the country? A prosecutor is essentially a lawyer who is always in support of the police department and vice versa. He/She can never contradict each other. But here is the Vice President of America, openly going against the police department!! In that process what she forgets is that she is contradicting her own self! It's very important to take notice about her locations, the places from where or the events at which, she made the above statements. When she says she is a tough prosecutor, she is amongst all the law enforcement officers, surrounded by police department dignatories. So she is speaking things that sounds like music to their ears. 

But then when she is amongst criminals, during some reform program inside a prison, or addressing a group of people of the "Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement, known for giving civil rights to the black african american people, her tone and words both change by 180°!!! She now becomes an advocate of those innocents who were wrongly accused, convicted and punished by the police officers and so she starts demanding the defunding of the police departments all across America!!! Who on earth can make this kind of 180° back-flips other than an opportunistic person, with no ideals or principles in her life? Not just this topic but she has been witnessed of changing her stances completely on several other important topics affecting Americans, which include her in back-flips on the immigration crisis on the southern border which joins the US with Mexico, etc. 

Having said that let's know what a chamaleon actually is. It's a living being the looks of which resemble a lizard. It's special characteristic is that it can change the color of its skin instantaneously as per the color of its background, so as to fool its predators as well as its preys. If it is on a tree, it will assume the color of its leaves, viz it becomes green! If it's on a reddish soil on the ground, it turns into  red! If it is on the branch of some tree or some wooden thing like a door or a window, it turns into the color of that door or window, viz. yellowish brown! Similarly, Kamala Harris can change her words and tone during her present ongoing speech, in no big time, so as to please her current audience! In that process she shows complete disregard to whatever opposite statements that she herself has given in some past event!! Thus she contradicts her own self!! The hashtag #KamalaChamaleon is so justified! 

Having looked at a very eye-catching flaw of the Democratic party candidate, let us now look at a similar eye-catching flaw of the Republican party candidate Donald Trump, which the Dems will try their best to bring to the fore, very shortly. It's Trump's bad habit of calling names!! Yes...he calls most of his opponents/ rivals/ critics by certain ugly names!!! Hahahah... This may sound utterly crazy but yes, he does that all the time! People came to know about this for the first time, when he addressed his rival Hillary Clinton in 2015, as "Crooked" Hillary!🤣🤣 Some were thinking that he might have done that by some mistake when he started calling a lot of Democrats and some other federal government officers too by certain unpleasant names!! He called Obama, "the destroyer, a guy who destroyed America". He called the then National Security Advisor John Bolton as "a complete idiot!!" 

In his campaign to run for Presidency in 2024, he has called the 46th and current US President Mr. Joe Biden as "Crooked Joe", "a very bad bad guy" etc. Once Joe has gone off the stage and is replaced by Kamala, he has now begun calling the current Vice President of the US as "Crazy Kamala"!!!😀🤣 His list of people whom he has publicly addressed in this foul manner is in fact, very long. He has given so many unwanted adjectives to so many people all around the world by now (yes, all around the world because he has also called the dictator of North Korea Kim Jong Un as "the mad man of Korea!!"😀😀 One hand it is rather funny but thinking a little bit deeper this is very bad and shameful. A person as highly designated and as greatly respected as the President of America, can not behave in this kind of indecent manner in his public appearances. Can he? Absolutely not. He can not call names of anybody, leave alone different senior political figures. It's childish and shows lack of proper public etiquette. It provides a proof of the lack of maturity and wisdom too. It's very shocking to see the President (right now former President) speaking this kind of a filthy language. Afterall, what would the next generation, the children of this country learn from their President when he behaves in this manner? A President is supposed to behave with utmost dignity that relates very well to his high designation. He is supposed to be a source of inspiration every moment of his tenure as President of this great country so that the future generations keep learning a lot of good things from not just his executive actions but also from his words, from what he speaks in public. But Trump keeps on destroying this dignity so many times. Almost every time he is on stage he will definitely call somebody by some weird name. I wonder why nobody from his party ever said a word against his usage of totally disrespectful language in his speeches. Has he ever watched or read about any President, prior to him, including those he admires so much like Ronald Reagan (from Republican party and  President between 1981 and 1989) or George W. Bush (from Republican party and President between 2001 and 2009) or any President from further past like Richard Nixon, John F Kennedy, F.D.Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington - speaking a foul language in public?? Then why is he using it? Afterall is no young kid that he is showing this level of immaturity... He is a 78 y.o. man, who knows very well what is good and what is bad, what kind of language should be spoken in public and what kind of language should NOT be spoken in public. Doesn't he? Despite all these, he continues to embarrass his party workers by speaking such indecent words. It's utterly shameful and disgusting. It does create a somewhat weird and unlikable picture of him, which can hamper his chances for getting elected in November to a certain extent, if not completely destroy it. 

If he stops using such foul language (sometimes he uses abuses too, once he called Ron DeSantis as "Son of a _____" while he was on stage), he can recreate a very presentable picture of himself in the eyes of all Americans, thereby improving upon his own chances of getting elected once again as President. Maybe some close friend of his or some family member may ask him some day to improve upon this huge negative that he holds thereby denying to give crystal clear opportunities for his opponents to attack upon him, using it.  

Among the two candidates, Harris is being chosen more if the criteria of selection is individual personality and not previous performance as President or Vice-President. This is because of several cases/ evidences already, wherein Trump has been proven doing something wrong. He lost a case of sexual assault on one female called E.Jean Carroll who accused him of raping her during their brief encounter in the nineties. Trump was ordered by the court to pay her a huge sum amounting to millions of dollars as compensation against his crime. He did pay the entire amount to the victim, Jean Carroll. This episode proves that despite his denials, it's already proven that Trump did rape her, else he wouldn't have lost that case.  Talking on moral grounds, a rapist shouldn't have any chance to lead the country at all. But, here is Trump who led the country successfully as President despite being accused of this highly serious charge! This can lead to a very detailed discussion about those accused of serious crimes, as to whether they should be allowed to go into the politics of America and become leaders of the nation. I am avoiding this right now because it diverges from our main discussion about who is a better candidate among Trump and Harris to lead America. Trump has also been revealed and proven to be lying on several occasions. One of them was when he charged Joe Biden of stealing away the 2020 Presidential elections by colliding with the corrupt deep administrative state, that invisibly exists in America. All his charges of manipulative activities committed by Biden and his team have been proven wrong so far. That means he has this habit of lying too. Even Harris has lied on some occassions. But the difference between these two is that despite committing some mistakes, Trump did try to give his very best performance while in office as President in the most unselfish manner. He wanted nothing on a personal level - money, fame nothing at all, while being the President. Whereas Harris does want things on a personal level, which is obvious from her words and actions. The fact that Trump does not want any thing for himself or his family and is doing all this hard work for his country, in order to repair it, makes him a very right choice, as far as I am concerned. He also enters into that elite league of America's greatest Presidents, by default, because of his illustrious virtue of selflessness. Some may completely disagree from the above evaluation of Trump, that I just made. I completely agree with their desire to disagree. They may vote for Harris and just forget about Trump altogether. 

From the above instance of Trump being accused of so many crimes yet being able to do something good for America, atleast I would still give one more chance to him to get elected as the President once again, because his intentions for America are very good and his performance as previous President - is good too. Some people who think more than me on moral grounds, may consider Trump as a total misfit to run for Presidency. Well, they too live in a democratic country like you and me and so they have all the rights to express their opinion. Let them do that. Let them not vote for Trump at all. It was my duty to tell you what matters more while deciding who to vote for - previous performance at a high designation or personal track record on things that are not directly connected to the country. It's up to you now to decide whether you should forgive Trump of all his personal drawbacks and vote for him or just not forgive him at all and vote for his rival Kamala Harris. 

In short, this battle is between two extremes - on one side there is Kamala Harris, who is an extreme liberal, far left candidate, who advocates for decency, equity, and inclusivity for all. On the other side, there is Donald J Trump, who is a far right nationalist, who advocates for equality (and not equity), preference to a certain section of the society (and not inclusivity that suggests inclusion of all), aggression in language and behavior (and not decency) when it comes to protecting national as well as personal interests.
